9th November 2008

Waxing Demonstration - starts 1030

  • Learn how to wax your skis in preparation for the coming winter
  • Following the initial demonstration, there will be the opportunity - for a nominal sum to cover the cost of the wax - to wax your own skis under supervision.
  • Bring your racing or touring skis along.
  • Takes place in the Minet Lodge adjacent to the cycle circuit

Roller Ski Course – starts 1200

  • Learn to rollerski and enjoy all year round ski-ing
  • Ski better when you get to snow
  • Find out how you can gain a Snowsport England Nordic Proficiency Award
  • Meet others who enjoy roller ski-ing and cross country ski-ing

You can learn the basics, refine your classic technique or perfect your skating. Regular rollerski-ing means, when you get to snow, less time is spent regaining your ‘ski legs’, so you can improve faster and become a better skier. What’s more as you use all the same muscles in rollerski-ing, it’s ideal preparation so you get fewer aches and pains when you ski on snow.

Sessions will be tailored to the needs of participants and run by volunteer Snowsport England qualified Club instructors.

Class sizes will depend on the number of participants on the day but typically range from 6-12.

What to bring

  • Gloves and, if you have them, cycle helmet, knee/elbow protectors;
  • Packed lunch/water or purchase on day from nearby Sainsburys;
  • Tea/coffee or buy from the adjacent Goals centre

What to wear

Leisure or sports clothing – breathable layers are best but if you’re a beginner don’t wear your best kit in case you fall.
