LRNSC - cross country skiing activities
Cross country skiing trips
In the last few years LRNSC went cross country skiing in Itay, Japan, Finland, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic for:
- an early season training week with the opportunity to compete in La Sgambeda ski marathon in Livigno
- a week In Estonia and Finland taking in the Tartu and Finlandia ski marathons
- an early season training weekend at the Oberhof Ski Hall in Germany
- Worldloppet trips to the Konig Ludwig Lauf in Germany and the Jizerska Padesatka in the Czech Republic
- a week's holiday in Akaslompolo in Finland
A Club member co-ordinates arrangements; for some trips you organise most of your own travel under their guidance, whilst others tap into holiday company resources. You get a value for money trip with keen skiers to different places around the nordic ski world.
See our Calendar section for the latest programme details.

Skiers network - find skiing friends
Sometimes members make their own ski-ing plans then want to find others to share them or to join up with at an event. You can use this website, the Club newsletter or events to tap into the member network.
For instance members met up at the Konig Ludwig ski marathon in Germany - they swapped information, made their own travel plans, travelled on different days, found their own accommodation [some stayed in the same hotel], indulged in cakes and wine, supported each other on the race days, and had a fun time.

LRNSC trips are also open to members of other SSE affilitated clubs, but we do ask you to join our Club too in recognition of the effort our members put into organising the trips.
Training for cross country skiing
Roller skiing is the best way to prepare for cross country skiing so we organise sessions where members can learn, practise or improve their skills.
If roller skiing's not for you then there's the option of cycling at some events and walks also feature on our programme.
See the Calendar section for more details.
