Czech Republic cross country ski trip
21/07/10 THIS TRIP IS FULL - if you wish to be placed on the reserve list please contact the organiser using this form.
Following the success of our cross country skiing trip to Ramsau in 2010, we are planning a similar one from 2-10 January 2011 to Bedrichov/Liberec in the Czech Republic.
The format of the week will be similar to that of Ramsau with daily coaching at all levels and group cross country skiing. Peter Moysey has already confirmed his availability, so we can be sure of the quality of the tuition.
The week will end with the Jizerska Padesatka cross country ski races over 25 (classical), 30 (skating) and 50 (classical) km, so everybody will have the opportunity, if they wish, to take part in a 'proper' competition - one which is part of the Worldloppet.
The general plan will be to fly to Prague and then to travel on to Liberec by bus, which will take about two hours. The daily skiing will be at nearby Bedrichov, and we would hope to go over to Jakuszyce in nearby Poland for one day just to add some variety. The terrain in both places is more Scandinavian than Alpine, with plenty of tracks running over the low, forested hills of the Jizera range.
