Cross country skiing and roller skiing

Join and learn to roller ski - it's great for fitness and fun, plus it's the best way to prepare for cross country skiing.  There are sessions for children and for adults, tasters as well as courses for beginners and improvers - . Plus we organise the London series of roller ski races.  And you can cross country ski with us.

Roller ski tasters 19 April & 23 May 

Try cross country skiing without the snow - we're running two 1.5hr roller ski taster sessions for people who want to give the sport a try.  It's great for fitness, balance and coordination, and roller skiing is the closest thing to cross country skiing on snow.  Find out more and book online.


LRNSC organises first roller ski race at the Olympic Park

On Saturday 2 May LRNSC is organising the first 3k free technique roller ski race at the Lee Valley Velopark, part of the world famous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

This event is must-attend either as a racer or spectator.  To race you must enter in advance online as there will be no race entry on the day.  Find out more details about the event which is first race of 2015 in the British Roller Ski Series.

Learn to roller ski or improve your skills on 2 November

The second of our autumn roller ski courses takes place on Sunday 2 November - find out more and sign up now.  There'll be groups for beginners and improvers.

Roller skiing gives you a workout like no other [apart from cross country skiing] as it uses virtually all your muscles, and it's the perfect preparation to enjoy cross country skiing in the winter. 


Over 2000kms skied! Results for the 4 hour roller ski event now posted 

Start - LRNSC 4hr event [M Wray]Congratulations to Miroslav Havelka, Jane Heward/Holly Rees-Lay and Beth Ireland for winning the male, female and junior categories - you can see the results of this LRNSC race here.  Beth deserves a special mention for skiing 39 laps which actually made her 3rd in the overall female category.

Well done to everyone who took up the challenge to roller ski as far as they could in 4 hours or whatever time they set themselves - in total we clocked up 2118.53 kilometres [1318.82 miles]!


21/9 Roller ski time trial results now posted

You can see these on the 2014 rollerski race results page.  Thanks to everyone who participated in and supported this race and congratulations to winners in their respective categories.

There's still time to book your place on our roller ski course on 21/9, and the 20% saving on all four autumn courses for members has been extended to 2000hrs on 18/9.  Book now!

If you want to take part in the British roller ski series time trial race on that day, please enter now to help the organisers.

Four places have unexpectedly come available on our cross country ski trip to Dobbiaco - members should contact the organisers ASAP if interested [nb this info was correct as at 9/9/14].


Want to be a roller ski instructor?

Want the fun and satisfaction of teaching others how to roller ski?  Snowsport England [SSE] are running their next level 1 Roller Ski Instructor course at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on 1-2 November led by Adam Pinney.  If you're an LRNSC member we can support you in return for agreed coaching sessions.
