It's designed for beginners who want to expand their skills and become an all-round nordic skier. It's ideal for anyone on our earlier beginner course, or if you already have some roller or cross country skiing experience.
You'll learn the different elements, Skate 1, 2 and 3 [think of them as gears], within the skating technique and when to use them on the flat and on hills.

It's an ideal pathway if you want to learn to skate on snow and take part in our popular cross country skiing development week in Ramsau in Austria in January 2027.
Roller skiing is the best way to learn, maintain and improve your skiing skills. For beginners it's a pathway to participating in Club cross country skiing trips.

The new Southern Roll series of roller ski challenges kicks off on Sunday 29 March with a 3km classic event. Sign up now and see how fast you can ski over 3km - it's for anyone who can roller ski Hillingdon Cycle circuit safely. We're developing our programme for next year and will be progressively updating the website and booking system but in the meantime here's an overview of our roller ski sessions from January - July.
Roller ski challenges and races will also be added when details are available.
In the meantime, join us for our seasonal, twilight roller ski tour of Richmond Park on Saturday 6/12, and Club roller ski sessions on Sunday 18/12 in west London [which will finish with a pizza party!], and in Kent.
