26/9 roller ski race results

Results from yesterday's 2 lap FT time trial are here.  Next time trial is on 10th October - register now!

Greg Bell reports that Sunday was a pleasantly warm day and although several people had canceled due to petrol shortage, we still had a respectable turnout of 19 racers for our first race at Hillingdon since November 2019! Thanks to Jordan Andrews and the BNDS team for coming down to take part, and well done to them for taking the top 4 placings.

The race was in Time Trial format, with racers setting off at 30 second intervals, doing 2 laps (3km) of the circuit. This was the 1st of 6 we'll be running at 1pm, after our morning sessions at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, until 6th December. We're calling these "fun races" as they're intended to get people gently back to racing before, let's hope, a full racing programme can be run next year. No prizes, but by taking part in as many as possible skiers should aim to see an improvement in their PBs.

A big thank-you goes to Margaret Chalmers and Megan Campbell for their invaluable help in bringing refreshments and then staying on in the afternoon to put warning signs out, marshal the course and hand out and collect race bibs. It's always fun to volunteer and get to know more people in the Club.  Without volunteers helping carry out these mundane but vital tasks, organising these events would not be possible, so we hope others will be prepared to help when required.
